Amahagan Peated Edition

Special features: The Amahagan Peated Edition comes from the Nagahama Distillery, Japan's smallest whisky distillery, founded in 2016 on the shores of Lake Biwa. Produced using the smallest pot stills in the country, this smoky blend combines the distinctive spirit of the distillery with carefully selected malt whiskies from around the world. This bottling complements the Amahagan World Malt series with a peaty profile and adds new depth through the peated finish.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Smoky peat notes meet malty sweetness with light spice and vanilla hints.
  • Palate: Strong and full-bodied, the whisky presents itself with dry smoke, subtle fruit and a velvety texture.
  • Finish: Long lasting, with spicy smoke and a subtle hint of oak.

Distillery/Bottler: The Nagahama Distillery is located on Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake, and, with an area of just 26 square meters, is the smallest distillery in the country. Founded in 2016, it represents the new generation of Japanese craft distilleries. With its elaborately handcrafted equipment, including the smallest pot stills in Japan, Nagahama places great emphasis on complex and full-bodied whiskies. The Amahagan series combines its own brand with malts selected from around the world to create a multifaceted taste experience.
