Amaras Cupreata Joven Mezcal

Special features: The Amaras Cupreata Joven Mezcal is made from the wild-growing Cupreata agave, which thrives in the foothills of the Rio Balsas basin in Guerrero, Mexico. This agave takes about 13 years to reach its full maturity. The traditional production includes roasting the agave hearts in earthen ovens, fermentation in wooden containers, and double distillation in copper stills. In 2021, this mezcal was awarded "Double Gold," "Best of Class," and "Best in Show" at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Gentle notes of leather, cocoa, and roasted pumpkin seeds.
  • Palate: An intense, bright, herbal flavor with aromas of paprika and spices.
  • Finish: Fresh with a mild, peppery spice that lingers on the palate.

Distillery/Bottler: Mezcal Amarás was founded over a decade ago and follows a sustainable and holistic philosophy. The company works closely with local producers and places great importance on organic farming methods as well as social responsibility. In 2023, Mezcal Amarás celebrated its 10th anniversary and introduced new products such as the Amarás Logia Delux Agave Horno.
