The blacklight effect is part of the concept behind Böser Kater Black Light: under UV light, the gin appears neon green. Natural ingredients make this effect possible. The bottle comes with Magic Neon Powder, and the black gift packaging features the brand's cat motif.

Lime, elderflower and juniper form the botanical base. Fruity citrus notes meet floral sweetness and classic juniper character. The gin is produced in small batches, is vegan and contains neither artificial flavourings nor added sugar. It is bottled at 40% in a 0.5-litre bottle. Dry tonic and Mediterranean tonic water are suitable mixers.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The gin is fresh and fruity on the nose. Distinct lime notes are accompanied by delicate elderflower and its floral sweetness.
• Palate: Fresh lime takes the lead on the palate, with juniper accompanying the fruit. The mouthfeel is soft, while sweet and spicy notes complement the flavour.
• Finish: The gin has a long, gentle finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Edelobstbrennerei Schleihauf GmbH in Eppingen produces this gin. Behind Böser Kater is Adrian Clausing, who took over the family business in its third generation. Previously, the focus had been on fruit spirits and liqueurs made from fruit grown in local meadows. With his own gin recipes, he expanded the range to include new botanical combinations.

His cat Rüdiger inspired the brand name. This connection also led to a commitment to cat welfare: with every bottle sold, Böser Kater supports partner organisations through donations. In 2025, a new production facility was completed, with larger production and storage areas and a room for tasting events.
