Special features: This limited release from "A Collection of Curious Casks" by The Balvenie has been aged for 12 years in European oak casks that were previously seasoned with sweet dessert wine from Montilla, Spain. Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie personally selected the cask to achieve a perfect balance between Balvenie's characteristic honey sweetness and the rich vanilla-oak note.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Delicate and fresh with notes of barley sugar that unfolds into flowing honey, harmoniously balanced by roasted oak.
- Palate: Initial candied sweetness develops into a rich vanilla-oak note, accompanied by warming spice and dried apricots.
- Finish: Long and refreshingly sweet with an elegant balance between wood and fruit.
Distillery/Bottler: The Balvenie Distillery, founded in 1892 by William Grant in Dufftown, Scotland, is known for its traditional craftsmanship and the combination of malting, mashing, distillation, and cask aging under one roof.
