Special Features:

Black Bull Kyloe uses a high proportion of malt whisky blended with grain whisky. Bourbon casks and American oak shape its maturation. Bottling at 50% and dispensing with chill filtration are defining choices for this edition. The miniature contains 0.05 litres, and no colouring is added.

The name Kyloe refers to Scotland’s hardy Highland cattle. The blend’s sweet, fruity and nutty character suits its robust style: toffee and fruit meet chocolate, while vanilla and oak accompany the creamy finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, toffee and apple mingle with clementines and brown sugar. Toasted oak complements the sweet, fruity aromas.
• Palate: The palate reveals hazelnuts, chocolate and raisins.
• Finish: Vanilla and oak remain present on the finish, joined by a creamy impression.

Distillery/Bottler:

Duncan Taylor is an independent whisky bottler based in Huntly, Aberdeenshire. The company was founded in Glasgow in 1938 as a cask broker and trading business. Stocks of mature whisky accumulated over decades became the foundation for its own bottlings. When Euan Shand acquired the company and its whisky stocks in 2001, he established the business in his hometown of Huntly. Duncan Taylor brings together its whisky blending, storage and bottling operations there.

Black Bull’s history goes back further: merchant and whisky blender George Willsher registered the brand in Dundee in 1864. He favoured a high malt content and a robust alcohol strength. When Euan Shand revived the brand in 2009, he continued this approach. Alongside the Black Bull blends, Duncan Taylor’s range also includes single-cask bottlings of malt and grain whisky.
