Blackforest Wild Gin Traditional combines a classic London Dry style with a resting period in clay amphorae. This distilled gin contains 45 botanicals and rests in the clay vessels for six to twelve months before bottling, allowing its aromas to come together harmoniously.

The distillery uses a vapour extraction process to capture the citrus aromas: hand-peeled, dried citrus peel is placed in an aroma basket in the rising alcohol vapour rather than immersed in alcohol. This gently extracts its aromas. Alongside pronounced citrus freshness, juniper, basil and ginger contribute to this gin's character.

The gin is offered at 45% alcohol in a 0.5-litre bottle. This version comes without gift packaging and contains no added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, the gin is fresh and fruity. Lemon and lime mingle with basil, ginger and tea aromas. The scent of dried orange peel adds another dimension.
• Palate: The palate is soft and mild. Lively acidity accompanies pronounced herbal nuances. Citrus notes and gentle juniper join them, while basil adds a subtly peppery accent.
• Finish: Coriander and cardamom stand out clearly on the finish. Mace and numerous citrus nuances complement the fresh impression. The spice notes give way to a harmonious, woody dryness.

Distillery/Bottler:

WILD Schwarzwaldbrennerei & Weingut GmbH produces the gin in Gengenbach. The distillery's history dates back to 1855, and three generations of distillers have shaped the family business's working methods. Historic meadow orchards and fruit grown largely by the company itself underpin its production of fine fruit spirits.
