Special features: This 28-year-old blended malt Scotch whisky has been matured in bourbon casks by Cadenhead's, Scotland's oldest independent bottler. As a so-called "teaspooned" malt, it contains a small amount of whisky from another distillery. The reasons for this are well known... among other things, the distillery cannot be named.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromas of old leather books, honeysuckle, milk chocolate, and gorse.
- Palate: Flavors of cinnamon bark, gooseberries, pear drops, rhubarb, and papaya.
- Finish: Aftertaste of licorice, golden syrup, and orange zest.
Distillery/Bottler: Cadenhead's was founded in 1842 and is Scotland's oldest independent bottler. In 2004, the company was acquired by J & A Mitchell & Co. Ltd., which also operates the Springbank Distillery.
