Distillery/Bottler: Cardhu was founded in 1824 by John Cumming, who had previously worked as a whisky smuggler. The distillery is located high up on Mannoch Hill above the River Spey, which provides the soft water for distillation. Originally operated as a farm distillery that worked seasonally after the harvest, Cardhu has developed into one of the most renowned distilleries in Speyside.
