This limited edition is part of an annual series created by the Chichibu Distillery since 2018, celebrating the cultural connections between Paris and Tokyo. The bottle features a poppy, colorful design inspired by stamps and Japan's Kawaii culture.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Rich and creamy with a pleasant malty bitterness, underpinned by earthy and spicy notes of cinnamon. Aromas of tropical fruits like passion fruit and lychee as well as dark berries like grape and blackberry unfold, accompanied by earthy underbrush notes like dry leaves and porcini mushrooms. Subtle plum aromas add a noble depth to the bouquet.
- Palate: Initially oily and strongly peaty, with citrus and pepper notes. As it develops, the taste evolves into honeyed and waxy flavors, becoming increasingly creamy and showing a seductive sweetness of toasted bread and rusk. Malty notes of oatmeal and fruity accents of mirabelle and plum enrich the flavor.
- Finish: Long and concentrated, with the malty tones from the nose and palate remaining. Fresh notes of gentian, mint, eucalyptus, and sage refresh the finish. Exotic aromas of passion fruit and candied plums blend with sweet notes of toffee and bourbon vanilla, leading to a harmonious and lasting aftertaste.

Despite its young history, it has quickly established itself as one of the leading distilleries for Japanese whisky. Known for its artisanal production and the use of local spring water, Chichibu produces whiskies that are appreciated for their complexity and depth.
