Special features: The Chichibu Paris Edition 2025 Le Marais is an exclusive single malt whisky that celebrates the cultural connections between Paris and Tokyo. This limited release of 2,484 bottles reflects the vibrant atmosphere of the Parisian district Le Marais and connects it with the urban energy of Harajuku in Tokyo. The six different labels of this edition, inspired by Japanese Kawaii culture and designed in a pop, colorful style, resemble stamps and symbolize the exchange between the two metropolises.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Full and velvety, with a pleasant malty bitterness, earthy and spicy notes of cinnamon, followed by tropical fruits like passion fruit and lychee as well as dark berries like grape and blackberry. A hint of underbrush with dry leaves and porcini mushrooms adds depth, while subtle plum notes provide nobility.
• Palate: Clear and vibrant, initially oily and robustly peaty, with citrus and pepper notes. The flavors develop into honeyed and waxy nuances, becoming increasingly creamy and showing an enticing fruitiness with mirabelles and plums.
• Finish: Long and concentrated, with malty tones, refreshed by aromas of gentian, mint, eucalyptus, and sage. Both exotic (passion fruit) and candied (plum) notes emerge, while the retro-nasal gradually envelops with toffee and bourbon vanilla aromas.

Distillery/Bottler: The Chichibu Distillery was founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto and has since earned an excellent reputation for the quality of its whiskies. It is located in Saitama Prefecture on the island of Honshu and produces about 90,000 bottles annually. The distillery is known for its innovative production methods and the use of high-quality casks, which is reflected in the complexity and depth of its releases.
