Special features: The Demerara Solera No.14 from Rum Nation is a masterfully crafted rum from Guyana that embodies the art of solera aging. By combining pot still and column still distillates, a complex flavor profile is created, refined by aging in former bourbon barrels and a 12-month finish in fresh sherry casks (Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso). A small portion of very old Enmore rum adds additional depth.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: A complex bouquet with notes of fermented fruits, cola, myrtle, and bergamot tea.
- Palate: Full-bodied with flavors of sugar molasses, dark chocolate, coffee, dried raisins, and a hint of black tea and gentian root.
- Finish: Endless interplay between bitter herbal nuances and sweet molasses, reminiscent of vermouth.
