Special features: This rum is based on an innovative use of previously used barrels that were originally intended for aging malt whisky. The unusual addition of extracts from banana peels gives the distillate a refreshing, fruity note and enriches the flavor profile with a fine toffee balance.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromas of banana bread, molasses syrup, dried fruits, cinnamon, and butterscotch
- Palate: Full-bodied flavor of banoffee pie, sticky toffee pudding, milk chocolate with raisins, and crystallized ginger
- Finish: Long-lasting with sweet and spicy notes
Distillery/Bottler: The rum is produced in Scotland, where previously used whisky barrels undergo a second aging period. The project focuses on sustainable use and creative recycling of raw materials, which is also reflected in the extraction from banana peels – an unusual but successful combination.
