Nagahama 2019/2023 - 3 yo - The First Batch
Volume: 0.5 liters | Alcohol content: 50% | Non-chill-filtered | No coloring
Description
Located on Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake, is the island nation's smallest whisky distillery. Founded in 2016, Nagahama is part of a new generation of Japanese distilleries – and a response to the growing demand for premium domestic products. In just 26 square meters, the team led by master blender Takashi Kiyoi distills the malty whisky spirit. The equipment is adapted to the space: Nagahama works with the smallest pot stills in Japan. The alembic stills ensure added fullness and depth.
The Nagahama Single Malt – Second Batch is the emerging distillery's second single malt release. It combines whisky matured in Oloroso sherry casks since 2019 with whisky from Islay, as well as bourbon quarter casks and barrels from the Chicago-based Koval distillery, to create a full-bodied, smooth experience with smoky and refined nuances.
