Special Features:

Maturation in selected Oloroso sherry casks shapes this Finnish gin's distinctive character. It spends four months in the oak casks, softening the bitter juniper flavour while adding wine-like fruitiness and woody notes. Juniper nevertheless remains its defining feature.

The gin is offered without added colouring at 45% alcohol in a 0.5-litre glass bottle. It can be enjoyed neat or used in mixed drinks. In May 2024, the bottling was initially launched exclusively in Teerenpeli restaurants and at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Fresh juniper emerges first, joined by wine-like fruitiness, raisin sweetness and vanilla, along with a subtle woody note.
• Palate: On the palate, characteristic gin spice combines with gentle fruit notes. Oak gives the flavour a dry structure.
• Finish: The finish lingers and feels rather dry. Spicy wood notes remain, accompanied by a hint of sherry.

Distillery/Bottler:

Teerenpeli is rooted in Lahti and owned by Anssi and Marianne Pyysing. Founded in 1994 with its own bar, the family business grew to include a brewery in 1995 and a distillery in 2002. Today, its range includes gin and other spirits alongside single malt whisky.

The two distillery sites serve different purposes. Taivaanranta, the older distillery, continues to produce small special bottlings, while Lotila handles larger-scale whisky production. Since 2015, Teerenpeli has operated its own pellet heating plant to supply heat to the brewery and distillery. It uses wood pellets made from wood industry by-products.
