Tenjaku Pure Malt - in GP

Special features: The Tenjaku Pure Malt Whisky is made from 100% malted barley and is double distilled in copper pot stills. The water used comes from 250 meters deep beneath the Misaka mountain range in the Fuji basin and is filtered through volcanic rock, resulting in a smooth texture and balanced mineral content. The whisky then matures in heavily charred Kentucky bourbon barrels, giving it its characteristic aromas and golden color.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Aromas of white pepper and mustard seeds, accompanied by earthy notes and hints of root vegetables. Over time, a slight bitterness develops.
  • Palate: Light to medium body with dominant notes of black and white pepper, vanilla, and honey. There are also nuances of nuts and ginger. The whisky feels young and somewhat rough.
  • Finish: Short finish with hints of maple syrup and roasted caramel.

Distillery/Bottler: Tenjaku Whisky is produced in the city of Fuefuki in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. The distillery uses pure spring water from the region and combines traditional Japanese methods with Western techniques to create a harmonious and balanced whisky.
