The Pogues Irish Whiskey , Blended Whiskey, 40% Vol.

It was actually only a matter of time before a whiskey was released by the Irish folk-punk band "The Pogues". The band's frontman, Shane MacGowan, who is notorious for his drug use, has already expressed his closeness to the water of life in songs such as "Streams of Whiskey" and "Whiskey, you're the Devil". Over 30 years after the band was founded, an Irish whiskey is now being released in collaboration with West Cork Distillers, a distillery founded in 2003 in Skibbereen (West Cork, Ireland).

However, it was not the band members' notorious alcohol consumption, but the Pogues' music that inspired West Cork founder John O'Connel. "They're not run-of-the-mill, clean fellas, and certain aspects of their behavior are not perfect or ideal. They're human, and their songs are about love and tragedy, and fellas who aspire to the pinnacle but don't always reach it." The Pogues Blended Irish Whiskey is a blend of 50% grain and an unusually high proportion of 50% single malt whiskey. As expected, the whiskey has as much character as the band and impresses with notes of sweet malt, roasted nuts and a smooth finish.
