The Woodpecker & The Leprechaun Cherrywood Finish Whiskey 0.5 l

Special features: This limited edition is the result of an extraordinary collaboration between independent bottler Sebastian Büssing and Irish whiskey expert Neil Saad. A 5-year-old single malt from the Great Northern Distillery was initially matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks before being aged for 12 months in a handcrafted virgin cherry wood cask. Only 87 bottles were produced, making this whiskey a rare treasure.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Peppermint, green apple peel, floral notes, wood glue, Manuka honey, vanilla, an impression of tartan racetrack in summer rain
  • Palate: Fresh mint, green tea, forest honey, vanilla croissants, coconut, light fruits and lime zest
  • Finish: Fruity and minty-fresh, lasting and lively

Distillery/Bottler: Sebastian Büssing, known for his work on The Spirits Alchemist and The Liquid Madness, is behind The Woodpecker & The Leprechaun. As an independent bottler, he is taking an innovative step in the Irish whiskey world with this series, focusing on virgin wood finishes that shape the character of the whiskeys in a new way. The whiskeys come from the Great Northern Distillery, one of the most important distilleries in Northern Ireland, renowned for its artisanal quality.
