XO Roots centres on the art of blending: Vallein Tercinier brings together Cognacs of different ages from the three crus of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Fins Bois. The bottling honours the family's roots and its inherited tradition of creating a unified expression from different mature spirits.

Every component was aged for at least ten years, exclusively in oak casks. The Cognac is bottled at 44% without chill filtration or added colouring. It comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals delicate notes of orange peel and nuts.
• Palate: On the palate, vanilla, cinnamon and brioche combine to create an indulgent, pastry-like impression.
• Finish: The finish is long and smooth, with a light menthol note.

Distillery/Bottler:

The history of Vallein Tercinier is closely linked to the Domaine des Forges in Chermignac. Louis Vallein purchased the estate in 1791. His grandson Georges Vallein, a distiller and wine and spirits merchant, founded the trading house around 1850. Paul Vallein later developed his own blends and sold the Cognac in bottles.

The cellar masters' knowledge was passed down through five generations of the family. In the 1990s, Louis Tercinier took over production, while his sister Catherine managed the commercial side. This combination of family continuity and experience in blending mature Cognacs also provides the background to XO Roots.
