White Horse brings together malt and grain whiskies in a blend with a sweet malt character and gentle peaty smoke. Malt whisky accounts for approximately 40% of the blend. Lagavulin from the island of Islay is one of its defining components. Honey and stone fruit complement the cereal notes and provide a counterpoint to the smoke.

This official bottling contains 1 litre of whisky at 40% alcohol and comes without gift packaging.

Distillery/Bottler:

The name White Horse recalls the White Horse Cellar Inn in Edinburgh, whose history dates back to 1742. The brand's connection with Lagavulin developed through the Mackie family: James Logan Mackie's trading company held an interest in the Islay distillery, and his nephew Peter learned the whisky business there.

White Horse was registered as a trademark in 1891. Following Peter Mackie's death in 1924, the company was renamed White Horse Distillers Ltd.; it passed to the Distillers Company in 1927. Today, White Horse is part of Diageo's portfolio.
