Special Features:

Two distinct Indian rum styles and a Jamaican component shape Amrut Two Indies White Rum. Amrut distils the sugarcane juice rum in pot stills and matures it in American oak casks. The jaggery rum from Karnataka is also pot-distilled and matured in American oak. Jaggery is an unrefined raw sugar. The Jamaican rum adds fruity esters to the blend.

The blend is bottled in India at 42.8%. Its fresh, herbal and vegetal character lends itself both to exploring neat and to a Daiquiri or Mojito.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is fresh and lively, with ripe banana, brown sugar and lime. Herbal and vegetal notes unfold with air.
• Palate: The palate reveals white pepper, liquorice and cooked vegetables with hints of sorrel.
• Finish: The finish is fresh and vegetal.

Distillery/Bottler:

Amrut began in Bangalore in 1948, when Shri J.N. Radhakrishna founded the company under the name Amrut Laboratories. From its base in Karnataka, it developed into a major Indian spirits producer. A site in Kumbalgodu was added in 1986; in 2004, Amrut introduced its single malt in Glasgow.

Alongside whisky, the range includes rum and gin. For Two Indies White, Amrut brings together its own Indian distillates and Jamaican rum. The combination of sugarcane juice and jaggery showcases two different raw materials used in Indian rum production.
