Special Features:

KOVAL Dry Gin forms the base of this cranberry liqueur. To make it, an unaged organic rye spirit is redistilled with 13 botanicals. KOVAL uses only the middle cut, known as the heart of the distillation. Cranberry is then added, and the finished liqueur is bottled at 30% alcohol.

The ruby-red liqueur is sweetened with organically grown cane sugar. Its combination of tart fruit and bittersweet gin flavours makes it suited to aperitifs: serve it as a spritz with Prosecco or sparkling water, or enjoy it on its own over ice.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Cranberry leads the nose, accompanied by herbs, juniper and spruce. Delicate floral notes complement the red fruit.
• Palate: On the palate, tart cranberry and redcurrants meet the botanicals of the gin base. The liqueur has a balanced bittersweet character without excessive sweetness.
• Finish: Lemony freshness, a hint of rosewater and distinct botanical notes linger on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

KOVAL was founded in Chicago in 2008 by Robert Birnecker and Sonat Birnecker Hart. Robert brought his Austrian family's distilling tradition to the venture. Together, they built a distillery that makes its spirits from grain to finished bottle, with milling, mashing, distilling and bottling all taking place on site.

KOVAL sources its grain from organic farms in the American Midwest. Selecting only the heart of the distillation also shapes the distillery's approach. Its products are certified organic by MOSA and certified kosher by the Orthodox Union.
