Special Features:

Martini Rosato combines white and red wine with spicy aromatics. Its ingredients include cloves from Madagascar and cinnamon from Sri Lanka. Drawing on Luigi Rossi’s original creations, the recipe brings together gentle spice, floral notes and restrained sweetness.

This rosé vermouth has an alcohol content of 14.5% and comes in a bottle containing 0.75 litres. It can be served chilled over ice with a slice of orange or grapefruit, and also works well in a Rosato & Tonic. For a spritz, it is combined with Prosecco and soda water, with raspberries and a slice of lemon as a suitable garnish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals cinnamon, cloves and mace, accompanied by floral hints, a light citrus aroma and a subtle raspberry note.
• Palate: Rosato is rounded and spicy on the palate. Sweet spice notes combine with gentle warmth and subtle bitterness.
• Finish: The smooth, long finish retains the spice notes and a delicate herbal freshness.

Distillery/Bottler:

The history of Martini & Rossi began in Turin in 1863. Co-founder Luigi Rossi was a herbalist and liqueur maker. The company continues to make its vermouths in Pessione, near Turin. Wine and botanical extracts are carefully matched, with aromas extracted through maceration in alcohol and, in some cases, subsequent distillation.

Base wine selection and work with botanicals are handled by separate specialists. Master Blender Beppe Musso oversees vermouth production, which also involves assessing grapes and wine suppliers. As Master of Botanicals, Alessandro Garneri is responsible for the botanical ingredients. Aroma assessments, chemical analyses and tastings help his team match varying harvests to the desired house style.
