Triple distillation shapes Ollitas Blanco and its smooth, fresh character. Orendain makes it entirely from blue Weber agave. The agaves are cooked in masonry ovens before a roller mill extracts their juice. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks is followed by three distillation runs.

Alongside cooked agave and citrus notes, this blanco reveals an earthy, mineral and spicy side. Cinnamon, other sweet spices, minty herbal notes and black pepper broaden its aromatic range. It can be enjoyed neat or over ice and also works well in a Margarita.

The bottle contains 0.7 litres at 40% alcohol. Ollitas Blanco won gold at the Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in 2019 and double gold at the TAG Global Spirits Awards in 2023.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Cooked agave is central to the soft, light nose, accompanied by citrus notes and a hint of honey. Earthy and mineral impressions mingle with dried herbs, lime zest and green pepper.
• Palate: On the palate, agave and honey combine with sweetness, slight bitterness and a fresh character. The tequila feels smooth and spicy, with pepper, buttery notes and smoky notes adding to the flavour.
• Finish: Agave lingers for a long time. The finish reveals layered, piquant spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Destilería Orendain is based in the town of Tequila in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Founded in 1926, the family-owned company is one of the tequila industry's long-established names. Since 2015, its La Mexicana distillery has also welcomed visitors wishing to learn about the production process.

Orendain slowly steam-cooks the agaves in masonry ovens and presses them repeatedly through a roller mill to extract their juice. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks using the company's own yeasts. While the standard distillation process involves two runs, Ollitas receives an additional third distillation.
