Special Features:

Toasted coconut defines this Arrangé from Rivière du Mât. It is based on white rum from the producer’s own distillery on Réunion, macerated with coconut and selected spices. Alongside the coconut sweetness, roasted notes and a flavour reminiscent of hazelnuts emerge.

In the glass, the liqueur has an amber hue with copper highlights. The bottle contains 0.7 litres at 35% alcohol. It can be enjoyed neat at room temperature or over ice in a small tumbler.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Coconut and pronounced roasted notes lead the nose. They are joined by impressions of coconut ice cream, vanilla cream and fresh mango. Cloves, cinnamon and white pepper complement floral notes of orange blossom and lilac.
• Palate: On the palate, the roasted character recalls hazelnuts. Coconut and white chocolate combine with honey-sweet pineapple and papaya, while baking spices and a hint of wood round out the flavours.
• Finish: The medium-length finish recalls creamy coconut chocolates.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1886, Rivière du Mât is one of Réunion’s long-established distilleries. It is located in Saint-Benoît, in the east of the island. For its Arrangés, it combines its own white rum with fruit macerations and spices. The range thus draws on a preparation method native to Réunion.

Making use of production residues is also part of the distillery’s work: since 2011, it has been committed to treating distillation residues and recovering energy from them. This connects rum production with a circular economy that contributes to the island’s energy supply.
