Santos Dumont Elixir combines aged rum distillates from the Caribbean and Central America with Brazilian cachaça. Distillates made from molasses and fresh sugarcane juice come together in a sweet, full-bodied liqueur.

Maturation takes place in former bourbon and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Honey and regional herbs complement the aged base. The liqueur is bottled at 40% alcohol in 0.7-litre bottles.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals banana, coconut and ripe apricots, along with a note reminiscent of apricot kernels. Honey and vanilla complement the fruit aromas.
• Palate: The liqueur feels soft and velvety on the palate. Honey sweetness, fermented fruit and orange combine with oak and caramel, while dried fruit adds a subtle accent.
• Finish: The long finish fades softly, leaving a gentle warmth.

Distillery/Bottler:

The name Santos Dumont honours the Brazilian aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont, who lived from 1873 to 1932. His family ran plantations; alongside coffee and sugar, rum and cachaça were also produced on their estate. His portrait adorns the bottle.

The brand combines Brazilian sugarcane juice distillates with molasses distillates from the Caribbean and Central America made using traditional slow fermentation. Selecting and combining these different bases shapes its style. Elixir builds on Santos Dumont XO, adding the sweetness and fullness of a liqueur to its aged character.
