Voll auf die Nuss combines natural hazelnut flavour with St. Kilian’s mellow single malt spirit. This base is made from pure malted barley, distilled twice in Scottish pot stills, before natural flavourings are added. The liqueur is bottled at 21% alcohol and has a reddish amber colour in the glass.

Introduced in 2022, this creation pays tribute to Terence Hill and the fistfights of his film characters. The brown-and-gold label on the rounded 0.7-litre bottle shows the actor with his fist extended. The liqueur can be enjoyed neat, over ice or as a cocktail ingredient. Store it in a cool, dark place and consume within six months of opening.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Roasted hazelnuts lead the intense aroma. Gentle sweetness combines with marzipan and Bourbon vanilla.
• Palate: On the palate, roasted hazelnuts meet pronounced sweetness and a soft mouthfeel. Creamy vanilla and caramel complement the nutty flavour, while marzipan and a hint of cocoa remain subtle companions.
• Finish: Hazelnut lingers on the long finish. It remains velvety and gently sweet, while cocoa and coffee contribute a subtle dryness.

Distillery/Bottler:

St. Kilian Distillers is based in Rüdenau near Miltenberg am Main, in the Odenwald region of Lower Franconia. Andreas Thümmler founded the company in 2012, and the distillery began production in 2016. Its whisky production follows the Scottish model: it uses locally sourced brewing malt as well as Scottish peat-smoked malt and distils twice in Scottish pot stills. For whisky maturation, it uses more than 400 different cask sizes and types. Alongside whisky, its range includes liqueurs based on young malt spirit.

The film-hero ranges grew out of a licensing partnership with Bavaria Sonor Licensing that began in 2020. The first Bud Spencer products were followed by the Terence Hill whiskies in 2021, with Voll auf die Nuss joining the range in spring 2022. This hazelnut liqueur extends St. Kilian’s work with malt spirits into another product style.
