Extended maturation shapes this vintage Armagnac from Domaine de Baraillon: around two and a half decades separate its distillation in 1999 from its bottling in 2025. This official house bottling combines fruity aromas with creamy, sweet impressions.

In the glass, the Armagnac displays a deep rusty-brown colour. It was bottled at 44% without added colouring. The clear bottle bears a cream-and-red label, and the 0.7-litre bottle comes in a wooden box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, nectarines and blackberries mingle with vanilla and floral accents.
• Palate: The Armagnac is sweet and creamy on the palate. Honey and caramel are complemented by subtle malty notes.
• Finish: Vanilla, honey and caramel linger through the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Domaine de Baraillon is situated in Lannemaignan in Bas-Armagnac, on the border between Gers and Landes. The Claverie family has farmed the estate since 1748. Its approximately 20 hectares of vines grow on sandy clay soils known locally as Sables Fauves. The grape varieties grown include Folle Blanche, Colombard and Baco.

The house traditionally distils its Armagnacs to around 52% and matures them in casks made from regional oak in its historic cellars. Viticulture, distillation and prolonged ageing thus form the connected background to its vintage bottlings.
