This Bas-Armagnac from Domaine de Baraillon combines the 2002 vintage with a bottling date of 18 June 2024. This grape spirit is an official bottling, bottled at 45% with no added colouring. Its character brings together woodland and fruit notes with a powerful palate with citrus and spice.

The Armagnac has a terracotta hue in the glass. The 0.7-litre bottle bears a cream-coloured label with a coat of arms and comes in a natural wooden box with visible grain and blue lettering.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, mossy woodland notes mingle with ripe fruit and a hint of spice.
• Palate: The Armagnac is powerful on the palate. Citrus notes and harmoniously integrated spices are accompanied by a delicate woody note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Domaine de Baraillon is located in Lannemaignan in Bas-Armagnac, on the border between Gers and Landes. The Claverie family has farmed the estate since 1748. SCEA Claverie has 20 hectares of vineyards on loamy, sandy soils known in the region as Sables fauves. Folle Blanche, Colombard and Baco grow in the vineyards.

For its Armagnacs, the house distils at around 52%, followed by maturation in casks made from local oak. The spirits are stored in the estate's historic cellars. Winegrowing, distillation and cask maturation are thus all part of this family estate's work.
