Extended maturation shapes this vintage Armagnac from Domaine de Baraillon. Distilled in 2007, the grape spirit spent more than 15 years in the family estate's cellars before being bottled in 2023. This official bottling contains no colouring and comes at 47% in a 0.7-litre bottle with a wooden box.

Fruit and flowers sit alongside honeyed sweetness, tea and distinctly woody spice. The Armagnac thus brings together floral and fruity impressions with the spicy accents of its maturation.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals flowers, white wine, raisins and apricots. Light tobacco notes and a hint of spruce needles complement the fruity, floral aromas.
• Palate: Intense notes of light-coloured fruit, heather honey and rooibos tea define the palate. The honeyed sweetness feels velvety, while cloves and oak lend a spicy structure to the floral, fruity character.
• Finish: The long finish recalls stewed green apples and chamomile. Spicy oak, baking spices and liquorice accompany the lingering flavours.

Distillery/Bottler:

Domaine de Baraillon is near Lannemaignan in Bas-Armagnac, on the border between Gers and Landes. The same family has farmed the estate since 1748; today, SCEA Claverie is responsible for production. Its roughly 20 hectares of vineyards grow on sandy-clay soils known as Sables fauves. The grape varieties cultivated are Folle Blanche, Colombard and Baco.

The estate's production methods include distillation to around 52% alcohol. The spirits then mature in casks made from local oak in the Domaine's old cellars.
