Special Features:

The 18-year-old CRN57° sits between the 12- and 25-year-old expressions in the core range. The range takes its name from The Cairn’s location on the 57th parallel. Gordon & MacPhail’s blending team composed it from malt whiskies matured for at least 18 years and bottled it at 43%. Its profile combines creamy notes of nuts and chocolate with bright fruit and a fresh finish.

Crisp apple, blueberry, candied citrus peel, raisin, toasted almond and brown sugar define the nose. Banana, milk chocolate, hazelnut and strawberries with cream follow on the palate, while lime, mint and pepper provide a fresh counterpoint in the finish.

• Palate: On the palate, banana, milk chocolate and hazelnut combine with strawberries and cream, accompanied by a delicate trace of spice.

Gordon & MacPhail composed CRN57° from selected mature malt whiskies and bottles it as a Blended Malt for The Cairn. The Cairn distillery is located near Grantown-on-Spey, on the northern edge of Cairngorms National Park, and belongs to the independent family business Gordon & MacPhail. The company’s experience in selecting, maturing and bottling Scottish malts, built over generations, provides the range with its specialist foundation.

The CRN57° range bridges the maturation period of the whiskies distilled at The Cairn. Its Blended Malts offer a preview of aromas and flavours that may later reappear in the distillery’s first Single Malts.
