The 25-year-old CRN57 belongs to The Cairn's age-stated blended malt range and is bottled at 43%. The blending team combined mature malt whiskies whose style is intended to offer a preview of The Cairn's future single malts. The name CRN57 refers to the distillery's location on the 57th parallel.

The whisky combines sweet notes of rum-soaked raisins, brown sugar, ripe fig and maple syrup with a hint of liquorice. Raspberry, pistachio, apple and lively orange peel provide a vivid contrast before milk chocolate and oak shape the finish.

• Nose: On the nose, rum-soaked raisins mingle with brown sugar, ripe fig and maple syrup, accompanied by a hint of liquorice.
• Palate: On the palate, raspberry and pistachio meet apple and lively orange peel.

The Cairn is located near Grantown-on-Spey, on the northern edge of Cairngorms National Park. The distillery is backed by the independent family-owned company Gordon & MacPhail, whose expertise in selecting, maturing and bottling Scotch malts, built over generations, underpins the CRN57 range. Its master blenders developed these blended malts as a sensory preview of The Cairn's future single malts.
