Distilled in April 2017, this Speyburn matured for eight years in a first-fill Armagnac butt. Hart Brothers bottled the whisky as a single cask in June 2025 at 46%; it has no added colouring, is not chill-filtered and comes in a dark tube with gold accents.
The whisky is pale gold in the glass. Its profile combines malt, violets, vanilla and dried fruit with spicy cereal notes, nuts, rich sweetness and subtle sherry notes. Gentle wood tones accompany it from the nose through to the finish.

Speyburn Distillery was founded by John Hopkins in 1897 in the narrow valley of the Granty Burn. Charles C. Doig designed the three-storey distillery to follow the slope of the hillside; it is the only distillery to use water from this burn. Speyburn employs long fermentation times, while one large wash still and two smaller spirit stills with traditional worm-tub condensers contribute to the distillate’s light yet full-bodied character.
Hart Brothers Limited was founded in 1964 by Iain and Donald Hart as a wine and spirits merchant and Scotch whisky blender. The company sources rare malt and grain whiskies, allows them to mature further and selects them through careful tasting for single-cask bottlings. For this edition, Hart Brothers independently bottled the Speyburn in 2025 at 46% after eight years of maturation in a first-fill Armagnac butt. Single-cask bottlings cannot be recreated identically once sold out; the company documents previous releases in its archive, together with distillery histories and tasting notes.
