Cadenhead's Benriach-Glenlivet 12 Years · 3 Years Finish in Amontillado Hogsheads
Special features: This 12-year-old single malt whisky from the renowned Speyside distillery Benriach has been finished in Amontillado hogsheads since 2022. Bottled by Cadenhead's, the oldest independent bottler in Scotland, the whisky remains unchill-filtered and without coloring to preserve the authentic character of the distillate.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Sweet aromas of foam candies, dates, ginger, heather honey, and gorse.
Palate: Creamy vanilla pudding, beeswax, honeycomb, and poached pears.
Finish: Spicy cinnamon rolls, star anise, banoffee pie, and canned peaches.
Distillery/Bottler: The Benriach Distillery, founded in 1898, is located in the heart of Speyside and is known for its fruity and vibrant whiskies. Despite a brief closure in 1900 due to the Pattison crash, the distillery has built an excellent reputation. Cadenhead's, established in 1842, is the oldest independent bottler in Scotland and is known for bottling single cask and small batch whiskies, rum, cognac, and gin. They place great emphasis on quality and authenticity, always avoiding chill filtration and coloring additives.
