Forbidden Fruit is the third release in the limited Xperience Collection. The Speyside single malt initially matures in bourbon casks before being finished in French Calvados casks.

With the Xperience Collection, Glen Moray continues its tradition of experimental cask finishes. Forbidden Fruit combines bourbon-cask maturation with finishing in former Calvados casks, bringing apple notes to the fore alongside pear in the finish. This official distillery bottling is released at 40%.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals fresh apple blossom and crisp green apple, accompanied by toffee and sweet pastry.
• Palate: On the palate, spiced apple pie and vanilla cream meet barley sugar and wood.
• Finish: The long finish combines oak, poached pear and clove.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glen Moray Distillery in Elgin produces the whisky and releases Forbidden Fruit as its own limited Speyside bottling. The distillery's first production run took place on 13 September 1897. Even its early spirit was filled into an unusually broad selection of casks for the time, including Marsala and sherry casks. In 1999, the distillery introduced its first Wood Finishes, using Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc casks. The Xperience Collection continues this tradition with experimental cask finishes.
