For the limited Campbeltown Malts Festival Edition 2025, Glen Scotia selected a heavily peated nine-year-old single malt. The whisky initially matured in first-fill bourbon casks before receiving a five-month finish in Ribera del Duero red wine casks. It was bottled at 54.3% with its natural colour and without chill filtration.

The bourbon-cask maturation initially brings out tropical notes and creamy vanilla. The red wine finish places ripe red fruits and juicy blackberry at the forefront, complemented by a subtle liquorice note. Powerful peat smoke and maritime salinity remain clearly present and merge with the fruit.

• Palate: On the palate, juicy blackberries and vibrant red fruits combine with a rich, oily texture.

Distillery/Bottler:

For this festival edition, Glen Scotia is both the distillery and the official bottler. The distillery typically produces peated spirit for only six weeks each year, with a large proportion intended for limited releases. Glen Scotia was founded in Campbeltown in 1832 as Scotia Distillery. The site retains key elements of its historic 1830s layout, including the mash tun, still house and a traditional dunnage warehouse.
