Longrow Peated is Springbank Distillery’s double-distilled, heavily peated style. This bottling brings together whisky matured in former bourbon and sherry casks. It is bottled at 46%, without chill filtration or added colouring. The 0.7-litre bottle is supplied without gift packaging.

Smoke contrasts with creamy sweetness. Herbs and rich fruit aromas complement this contrast, while a slightly medicinal note appears on the palate.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is very creamy, recalling vanilla custard. Smoke develops gradually without obscuring the other aromas. Over time, toasted marshmallows, herbs and rich fruit aromas emerge.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky is full-bodied, creamy and balanced, with a slightly medicinal note. Smoke remains present throughout, spreading in waves.
• Finish: Gentle smoke lingers persistently through the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Springbank Distillery produces Longrow entirely at its own site in Campbeltown on the Kintyre peninsula. Every production step, from malting the barley to bottling, takes place there. The distillery belongs to J & A Mitchell & Company and produces three distinct single malt styles: Springbank, Longrow and Hazelburn. For Longrow, the malt is dried with peat smoke for up to 48 hours.

The brand name recalls the lost Longrow Distillery, which once stood directly beside Springbank. Springbank first distilled Longrow in 1973 as a peaty, oily and robust component. This style has been a regular part of production since the 1990s.
