Springbank 100 Proof · 5 Jahre

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 57.1% ABV | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No

Special Features:

This five-year-old 100 Proof expression is conceived as a recurring addition to Springbank’s core range. The single malt is matured entirely in bourbon casks and bottled at 57.1% ABV without added colouring or chill filtration. It is lightly peated and distilled two and a half times using Springbank’s characteristic process.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is lively and clear, with green apple, gorse and fruit gums alongside a cool mineral note.
• Palate: On the palate, icing sugar, white chocolate and a hint of peat smoke are finely balanced, followed by notes of tomato plant, sunflower seeds and linseed oil.
• Finish: The finish combines honey with gooseberry.

Distillery/Bottler:

Springbank was founded by Archibald Mitchell in 1828 on the site of a previously unlicensed still. Its connection with the Mitchell family continues to this day; Springbank and Glengyle are part of J & A Mitchell & Co Ltd.

Every stage of production takes place at Springbank’s Campbeltown site. The distillery produces the three distinct single malts Springbank, Hazelburn and Longrow there and bottles its own whiskies.
