Bache-Gabrielsen Very Old Pineau Tres Vieux
Special features: This Très Vieux Pineau des Charentes from Bache-Gabrielsen combines tradition and craftsmanship in a bottle. It is produced on the day of the harvest by mixing sugar-rich grape must with young, high-proof Cognac. The mixture then matures for over 10 years in Limousin oak barrels, resulting in a complex and full-bodied flavor.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromas of honey, dried plums, and candied orange.
- Palate: Fruity with notes of hazelnut butter, dried fruits, and gingerbread.
- Finish: Round and smooth, characterized by vanilla aromas from the Limousin oak and a distinctive Pineau-Rancio.
Distillery/Bottler: The Maison Bache-Gabrielsen was founded in 1905 by Norwegian lieutenant Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen. Today, the company is run in the fourth generation by Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen. With a strong presence in the Scandinavian market, especially in Norway, where over a million bottles are sold annually, Bache-Gabrielsen stands for innovation, tradition, and passion in Cognac production.
