Special Features:

Lot 83 comes from a single French oak cask and exclusively from the Petite Champagne Cognac cru. Vallein Tercinier bottled the Cognac in 2023 from cask 0228. This limited release of 570 bottles combines origins in a single growing area with a single-cask bottling.

The Cognac is bottled Brut de Fût, meaning at cask strength, at 50.4%. It is neither chill-filtered nor coloured. Its fruity character combines with a creamy, slightly buttery mouthfeel and roasted, nutty accents. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Citrus fruit, pear and mango mingle with candied fruit on the nose. The fruit has a velvety quality, accompanied by buttery and nutty notes.
  • Palate: The Cognac is juicy, intense and oily on the palate, while also creamy and slightly buttery. Mango and candied fruit combine with raisins, apricots and savoury roasted notes. Spicy honey, almonds and a subtle oak note complete the flavour profile.
  • Finish: The delicate, roasted finish carries lingering walnut notes. Dried fruit, wood and spices also remain present.

Distillery/Bottler:

Vallein Tercinier has its roots at Domaine des Forges in Chermignac. Louis Vallein acquired the estate in 1791; Georges Vallein established the trading house in 1850 and began selling bottled Cognac. As an estate owner, distiller and merchant, he brought together several activities that shaped the family business.

Around 1920, Georges’ son Paul took over Camille Dupuis, a company offering its own Cognac blends. His nephew Louis Tercinier later continued the family tradition. After Robert Tercinier joined in 1947, the distillery’s eight stills supplied both the family house and other trading houses during the following post-war decades. In the 1990s, Robert’s children Louis and Catherine divided the agricultural and commercial responsibilities between them.
