Baileys Original blends Irish cream with Irish whiskey and other spirits. Chocolate and vanilla flavours complement the blend, shaping its sweet, creamy character. The litre bottle contains the classic Original Irish Cream at 17% alcohol. This release has a best-before date of March 2027.

The liqueur is beige and opaque in the glass. It can be enjoyed chilled over ice, used in cocktails or added to coffee, ice cream and desserts. Acidic ingredients such as citrus juice, wine or tonic should be avoided when mixing, as they can cause the cream to curdle.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, creamy milky coffee and milk chocolate mingle with a hint of nutmeg.
• Palate: The liqueur is creamy and balanced on the palate. Cocoa powder, dark chocolate and milky coffee are accompanied by a subtle nutty note.
• Finish: Nutmeg and black pepper come to the fore in the creamy, mocha-like finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Baileys was launched in 1974. Its development began with the idea of bringing Irish whiskey and fresh cream together in a liqueur, and the recipe was developed over two years. David Gluckman and Matt McPherson devised a process that combined fresh cream and spirits without the cream curdling. Today, the brand belongs to Diageo. Production takes place in Ireland, and the milk used for the cream comes mainly from smaller farms that have been family-run for generations.
