For this egg liqueur, Captain Cane pairs its creamy base with a distinctly aromatic ingredient: Jamaican high-ester rum aged for five years in oak casks. The rum's pronounced ester notes give the liqueur a tropical, fruity character. The maturation period applies to the rum used, not to the finished liqueur. In the glass, it is pale yellow.

The bottle is made entirely from recycled glass. A slight turquoise tint and nautical illustrations reflect the brand's seafaring theme. The liqueur has an alcohol content of 15% and comes in a bottle containing 0.7 litres. It can be enjoyed neat and lightly chilled, used in cocktails or served with desserts.

Captain Cane is the work of Oldman Spirits GmbH, based in Jübek in Schleswig-Holstein. The company's beginnings can be traced to an idea in 2013: Thomas Altmann wanted to develop his own rum and began experimenting with Caribbean rums of different origins and ages. Creating his own blends became an important part of his work. With Captain Cane egg liqueur, Oldman Spirits draws on this rum-focused approach to combine an aged Jamaican spirit with a creamy liqueur base.
