Domaine de Martin 2003/2026 - Armagnac Darroze
Special features: This Armagnac comes from the Domaine de Martin in Hontanx and was produced by Guy Deyres in the Bas-Armagnac appellation. The vineyards span 3.5 hectares of sandy soils, ideal for the grape varieties Baco (50%), Ugni Blanc (40%), Folle Blanche (5%), and Colombard (5%). The continuous distillation to 53% alcohol content is carried out by the producer himself, followed by aging in local oak barrels that ensure optimal development.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Complex aromas of fine spices such as clove and cardamom, accompanied by candied fruits like fig jam and apricot, as well as subtle wood notes reminiscent of Rancio.
- Palate: The complexity of the nose continues; a robust Armagnac with a balanced ratio of flavors, alcohol, and tannins.
- Finish: Long-lasting, with a harmonious balance between fruitiness and spiciness.
Distillery/Bottler: Darroze is a renowned family business specializing in exceptional Armagnacs. The family has built its reputation through an impressive collection of Armagnacs from the best locations in the region. Each Armagnac is aged in its own oak barrel, with the name of the winery, the production year, and the bottling date guaranteeing this unique diversity. To preserve the special characteristics, no blends from different wineries or vintages are made.
