This vintage Armagnac retains its single-estate identity: for the Unique Collection, Darroze neither blends different estates nor combines vintages, and does not dilute the spirit with water. The Armagnac from Domaine de Poutëou was distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2025 after 26 years of maturation at its natural cask strength of 48.5%.

Maturation took place in French oak casks. Dark fruit, citrus notes and spices shape its character, while soft tannins accompany the long finish. The Armagnac contains no added colouring and comes in a 0.7-litre bottle with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, ripe plums and dried figs mingle with delicately bitter orange peel. Leather, nutmeg and white pepper add to the intense fruit bouquet.
• Palate: The Armagnac is powerful on the palate, with dark fruit and liquorice. Ripe clementines and dates add further fruit notes, while nutmeg and black pepper contribute to the spice.
• Finish: Fruit and delicate spice carry through the long finish, accompanied by gentle, velvety tannins.

Distillery/Bottler:

Domaine de Poutëou is a family-run estate in Bas-Armagnac. The Tarbe family has produced Armagnac there for more than a century and also offers Floc de Gascogne alongside its vintage bottlings. For this release, Darroze selects and bottles the estate's Armagnac.

The history of Darroze begins with Jean Darroze's restaurant in Villeneuve-de-Marsan, where his son Francis discovered the wines and spirits of Gascony. From the late 1960s, Francis sought out Armagnacs from small producers, selected them and oversaw their maturation through to bottling. Today, Marc Darroze continues this work. The house works with around thirty estates and manages maturation in cellars in Roquefort and Labastide d’Armagnac. Keeping small lots separate and traceable preserves the distinctive qualities of each place of origin.
