This vintage Armagnac preserves the distinctive character of Domaine de Salié: for the Unique Collection, Darroze blends neither different estates nor different vintages. No dilution is used to reduce the alcohol content either. Distilled in 1997, this Bas-Armagnac matured for 29 years in oak casks and was bottled in April 2026 at its natural cask strength of 50%.

The bottling contains no added colouring and is not chill-filtered, leaving its honey-amber colour unchanged. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in black gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Intense dried-fruit aromas lead on the nose. Delicate citrus notes and warm spice complete the bouquet.
• Palate: The Armagnac is full-bodied, warm and dry on the palate. Pronounced woody notes combine with nutty accents and dark fruit.
• Finish: Spicy woody notes linger through the long finish, accompanied by a subtle hint of tobacco.

Distillery/Bottler:

Domaine de Salié is located in Le Frêche in Grand Bas-Armagnac. Baco grapes grow on its 2.2 hectares of sandy soil. The estate carries out its own continuous distillation at a distillation strength of 53% and uses local oak for maturation. This bottling has a drinking strength of 50%.

Darroze selects, further matures and bottles Armagnacs from its partner estates. The house has its roots in Jean Darroze’s restaurant in Villeneuve-de-Marsan, where his son Francis became acquainted with the wines and spirits of Gascony. In the late 1960s, Francis began seeking out small producers in Bas-Armagnac and selecting their distillates. Today, Marc Darroze continues this work; the house’s maturation cellars are in Roquefort and Labastide d’Armagnac.

For the Unique Collection, Darroze keeps the individual origins separate during maturation. Each Armagnac is given its own oak cask with a capacity of 420 litres. This preserves the connection between estate and vintage rather than merging it into a blend of spirits from different estates.
