Special Features:

A finish in a cask previously used for Imperial Stout distinguishes this single-cask release from Bimber. Part of Collection New Vibrations for La Maison du Whisky, it combines fruity notes with bitter chocolate and pronounced herbal and curry spice.

The single malt was distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2023 at a cask strength of 56.8%. Cask 259/2/290 yielded 257 bottles. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and contains no colouring. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in a tube.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, sweet pineapple, ripe apple and vanilla sit alongside subtle hints of dark chocolate, ginger and walnut.
• Palate: The whisky feels lively and fresh on the palate. Yeast and cereal notes combine with herbs, bitter chocolate and curry spice.
• Finish: The long, warm finish leaves lingering notes of apple pie, tropical fruit and fresh herbs.

Distillery/Bottler:

Bimber is located in London's Park Royal district. The distillery laid down its first casks on 26 May 2016, followed in September 2019 by its first single malt, The First. Its barley comes from a single farm and is traditionally floor-malted.

The distillery's production methods include mashing by hand and a slow, seven-day fermentation in wooden washbacks made in its own cooperage. Small copper pot stills are directly fired. Bimber selects its maturation casks individually, and bottling takes place on site at the distillery.
