Special Features:

Long maturation in bourbon casks shapes this Burnside bottling from Cadenhead's Original Collection. Distilled in 1996, the whisky matured for 28 years before being bottled in May 2025 at 46%. Burnside is not a distillery: William Grant & Sons produces the so-called teaspooned malt by adding a small amount of a second malt whisky to the first. This makes the bottling a blended malt. Its character brings together leather and flowers with milk chocolate, fruity spice and a sweet finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, leather recalls old book bindings, alongside honeysuckle, milk chocolate and broom.
• Palate: The palate brings cassia bark, gooseberries, pear drops, rhubarb and papaya.
• Finish: Liquorice, light sugar syrup and orange zest linger on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

William Grant & Sons produced the malt whisky for this bottling. Cadenhead's owns the Burnside brand and bottled the matured whisky independently for its Original Collection. Cadenhead's selects the whisky from its stocks in Campbeltown; its own bottlings are neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

William Cadenhead Limited traces its roots to a wine and spirits merchant founded in Aberdeen in 1842. William Cadenhead took over the business in 1858 and gave it his name. Following its acquisition by J & A Mitchell & Co. Ltd in 1972, the bottler's modern era began in Campbeltown.
