Special Features:

This Highland single malt was distilled in November 2000 and bottled on 12 October 2022 at the age of 21. It initially matured in refill ex-bourbon hogsheads before being transferred to the fresh Oloroso sherry butts 3152 and 3157 in May 2007. At around 15 years, the Oloroso phase accounted for by far the largest part of its maturation.

The two casks yielded 1,308 bottles. The whisky was bottled at its natural cask strength of 56.5% ABV, with no added colour and without chill filtration.

The aromatic profile also includes toffee, ripe strawberries, juicy raisins, spicy sandalwood, vanilla, coconut and ripe apple. Overall, the whisky is intense and mouth-filling.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, dry sherry aromas, stone fruits and red fruits meet toffee, ripe strawberries and juicy raisins. Brown sugar, cinnamon, clove, ginger, vanilla and sandalwood add a spicy contour.
• Palate: On the palate, grapes, plums and figs combine with red apple, caramel and spices. Coconut, ripe apples and vanilla complete the profile.
• Finish: The long, warming finish combines cream, caramel, roasted hazelnuts and dark chocolate with dark wood, cinnamon and a fresh hint of mint.

Distillery/Bottler:

The producer and official bottler is Edradour Distillery Co. Ltd in Pitlochry. The distillery was founded in 1825 as a cooperative of local farmers and has been owned by Andrew Symington since 2002.

Edradour operates without a computer-controlled production system. Its equipment includes an open cast-iron mash tun more than 110 years old, Oregon pine washbacks, two copper stills and water-cooled worm tubs. Edradour distils the new make spirit on site; the whisky matures there and is subsequently bottled there as well.
