Special Features:

This Glen Elgin comes from a single Hogshead and is part of Elixir Distillers’ The Single Malts of Scotland range. The whisky was distilled on 18 June 2008 and bottled on 28 April 2025 at 16 years of age. Cask #805600 yielded 261 bottles, each containing 0.7 litres at 56.3% alcohol. The whisky has no added colouring and is not chill filtered.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Ripe peach, pear and yellow apple lead on the nose, followed by fresh honey and a hint of vanilla.
• Palate: On the palate, juicy stone fruit is joined by pale grapes and delicate blossom honey. Malty sweetness, vanilla cream and subtle oak spice complement them, with a hint of caramel.
• Finish: The long finish remains fruity and turns slightly dry, with subtle almond and pale wood notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glen Elgin is a Speyside distillery founded in 1898 by William Simpson and James Carle. It has produced whisky since 1900. Its production methods include fermentation lasting around 90 hours and the use of worm tubs to condense the spirit. Its malt long played an important role in blends, particularly White Horse. For this single-cask bottling, Elixir Distillers selected the whisky from Hogshead #805600 and bottled it as part of its The Single Malts of Scotland range. Since 2002, Elixir Distillers has selected individual malt casks from various Scottish distilleries for the range.
