Special features: The KinGlassie Raw represents the unadulterated, most original side of the InchDairnie Distillery. Distilled only for two weeks each year in winter, a distinctive single malt is created from heavily peated barley malt from the Fife region, whose character is clearly shaped by mainland peat with over 50 ppm. Eight years of maturation in former bourbon casks made from American oak give the whisky structure, warmth, and a clear, malt-forward sweetness, while the strong smoky character always remains in the foreground. The highly limited whisky is bottled at 46.3% ABV, is neither colored nor chill-filtered, thus showcasing its natural texture and aromatic depth.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Dense peat smoke with hints of campfire evenings, accompanied by a warm, sweet malt base.
Palate: Intense, dry smoke is at the center, harmoniously rounded off by soft, sweet malt notes and a light vanilla tone from the bourbon maturation.
Finish: Long-lasting, smoky and warm, with gentle sweetness and persistent spice.
Distillery/Bottler: The InchDairnie Distillery, founded in 2015, is located in the heart of the Scottish region of Fife. With its modern, innovative approach, the distillery reinterprets the tradition of Scotch Malt Whisky. From local barley to precise cask maturation, the distillery works with the aim of creating complex and characterful whiskies that delight the palate. The KinGlassie Raw is an impressive testament to this philosophy: bold, intensely smoky, and uncompromisingly authentic.
