This limited single-barrel bottling is a Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey bottled at its individual barrel strength of 54.6%. It is matured in new, charred American white oak barrels.

The spirit enters the barrel at just 103 proof, equivalent to 51.5% ABV. Michter's associates this comparatively low entry proof with a richer, more complex flavour profile.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers sweet notes of butterscotch and cinnamon, accompanied by a hint of cherry.
• Palate: Toasted vanilla and caramel come together on the palate, creating a warm, full-bodied impression.
• Finish: The finish is long and defined by dry, spicy oak.

Distillery/Bottler:

The heritage embraced by Michter's began in 1753 with John Shenk's rye distillery in Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania. The Michter's name originated in the 1950s. After the Pennsylvania operations of the time went bankrupt in 1989, Joseph J. Magliocco and Richard “Dick” Newman revived the brand in Kentucky during the 1990s.

The present-day Shively Distillery in Louisville houses Michter's processing and bottling facilities, as well as a copper column still with a pot still doubler. The whiskeys mature in Kentucky warehouses where additional heat cycling is used to encourage flavour extraction from the barrel wood.
